I remember as a kid that at a certain time every year we wore poppies on our shirts. I never really knew what it meant as a kid, but I have been reeducated in my last two trips to Britain. We have been here the last two years for the first weekend in November and It is on that weekend that they have their Remembrance Sunday.
We are seeing a good selection of French farmhouse tables in various fruit woods coming to market again. Most of our sources in England and France are “to-the-trade-only” sources. They have antiques for sale that are more “fashionable” with trade at any given time and French farmhouse tables are coming back into circulation
Needless to say, we are going to the ends of the Earth (well the UK anyway) to find the most unusual pieces possible. We have not blogged before now as internet service is practically nonexistent. So much so, that I will most certainly have to hold a coat hanger in one hand while standing on the router to get this blog to post.
While on our antique buying trip in England (yes, RIGHT now), we thought it a propos to bring you up to speed on the antique lingo (so you are all ready to come in and buy some of the lovely new pieces we are picking out to have shipped over in a few short months)!
