In many homes, the living room is the main congregation area for your family, a centralized location for entertaining friends, and the perfect place for sitting down to have a quiet evening to relax or read. When designing your living room, consider the function of your living room and plan seating and furniture layout accordingly. It is imperative that your living room accommodates seating for your family and guests, as well as provides a comfortable location for socialization purposes.
Scale is a central ingredient to a successful design. Depending on the specific application, each project contains a wide variety of different sized pieces of furniture and fixtures. This is a never ending snowball effect; the scale of the space determines the scale of the dining table, the scale of the dining table determines the scale of the light fixture, and it continues down to small accessories.

We love it when our customers think outside of the box! And, we love it even more when they share their ideas with us. We recently had a customer who was looking for a vase for her foyer. While we did not have a vase that fit the bill, we did have a lamp that was just perfect! Being the creative type, a girl with a vision you might say, she purchased the lamp. And, a week or so later she sent us these amazing images of her creation!

We are officially upon one of our favorite times of the year here at CHD – Independence Day! In Murrells Inlet, we go BIG on July 4th – boat parades, golf cart parades, dock decorating contests, and lots of sand and sun time. Watermelon, potato salad, and fried chicken always help to make the day complete! Oh, and plenty of red, white and blue, too, course.
