We are officially upon one of our favorite times of the year here at CHD – Independence Day! In Murrells Inlet, we go BIG on July 4th – boat parades, golf cart parades, dock decorating contests, and lots of sand and sun time. Watermelon, potato salad, and fried chicken always help to make the day complete! Oh, and plenty of red, white and blue, too, course.
Red, white, and blue not only represent a very special meanings to Americans. They also create a color palette that can be to die for in your home. This color palette is classic, timeless, and perfect for our coastal homes. Red, white, and blue is versatile enough to have a traditional, transitional, or contemporary application, which means basically anyone with any style can pull it off!
In the spirit of Independence Day, we have pulled some of our favorite images where red, white, and blue make a home stunning. And, we have a few tips for you on how to incorporate this patriotic palette into your home!
If you want to pack a real punch with this color palette, select an awesome signature fabric like this medallion fabric covering the exposed wood upholstered chair. The size of this print makes a true statement in the room. The nautical rope piping (which can be hard to see in this picture) really adds an exquisite detail that is very appropriate for this coastal home. The chevron print custom draperies do a perfect job of incorporating light blues, yellows and greens into the color palette, thereby making the room more colorful and interesting.
In the same coastal home, the antique ship’s wool nautical prints in the entry way set the stage for everything surrounding it. The 1800’s antique, English console table beautifully complements these prints and provides the perfect showcase for the white coral display.
