During a project, a consistent style that flows ties rooms together in a way that makes a home cohesive. This Isle of Palms house benefitted greatly from both a Bohemian and Coastal mix freshens up the space and creates a livable interior. Touches of nautical elements are used to bring texture and visual interest. By addressing scale and volume, the space opens up to become more grand and inviting.

In this updated living room the importance of scale and space planning is made evident. Filling out the space with a larger sofa, additional chairs, and bigger coffee table creates a more enticing gathering area. An impressive custom dry bar with double door wine/beverage fridge and liquor storage drawers paired with custom floating shelves with built-in stemware racks fill the wall space and address the client’s desired function. We see the touches of the nautical theme in the use of rope in a living room stool and lanterns in the dining room.

Addressing Scale and volume in this home has helped capitalize the space. By replacing smaller side tables with larger chests and a more grounded, plush lounge chair fill the space more appropriately. Ombre drapes are used to soften the space and subtly frame the windows. The windows have also received remote control roman shades for convenience while sitting in bed.A freshness and calmness is brought to the Master Suite by replacing the harsh barn-wood beam walls with a softened driftwood faux finish.

Each of these rooms use different fabric and variations of pattern. Beautiful nautical prints and similar color stories help create a sense of flow throughout the home.

A deep blue shagreen vinyl wallcovering adds color and visual enriches the space. The wallcovering and the rope around the vanity mirror play with texture. In order to relate the powder room to the rest of the house touches of the nautical theme are added.

The location of this home serves as inspiration for many of the design decisions involving the interior. It was only appropriate to continue that to the exterior, as well. Again, we see with these before and after pictures, the effect of a good lay out and proper space planning.

Playing with different types of seating ensures that the arrangement is as flexible and versatile as possible. This beautiful picture displays two arrangements that serve different functions that still relate to each other.

Again, we see coastal inspiration continued out onto the porch through the warm colors and texture. A nautical flare is added through the classic blue and white color palette.
